I have moderated narrative changing and thought-provoking panels for Labs at Light City and Afropunk featuring thought leaders such as: Shanti Das, Brittany Young, Alicia Garza, etc. I am also the Founder of BE FREE Fridays, the longest running monthly open mic in Baltimore, and I am a co-curator and host of The Red Bull Amaphiko US Festival.
When we speak we are afraid our words will not be heard or welcomed. But when we are silent, we are still afraid. So it is better to speak.
- Audre Lorde
Audre Lorde is my favorite orator and writer, it is on the shoulders of women word warriors like her that I exist fluidly, unapologetically, and motivated to curate events and pour myself into them, materializing as host and conductor of experience ensuring that everyone feels safe, energized, and engaged. It is my passion to capture narrative and process via live on-stage interviews, moderated panels, and written articles. I am a narrative ninja for my people and our process is, in fact, news.
